SUMMER OF LOVE: REVISITED at The Royal Albert Hall
The iconic venue is holding a season of performances, screening, talks and events called Summer of Love: Revisited, marking 50 years since the 1967 apex of the ‘hippie’ movement. The rare screening of Peter Whitehead’s seminal film of the 1965 First International Poetry Incarnation, Wholly Communion, featuring Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Harry Fainlight, Ernst Jandl, Gregory Corso, Michael Horovitz, Adrian Mitchell and many more. The film screening was accompanied by a discussion on whether history has ever been altered by words, and what influence words might have on the course of the future.
